A Little Reflection
I cannot believe we have already finished Module One and handed in our work! It seems like only last week we weren't even sure what we would be doing on this course and now we have submitted an essay and an artefact.
I have learnt a lot over the last 12 weeks and definitely encountered new ways of learning where there are no 'answers' only more questions and more investigations. This was quite a challenge for someone like me who likes to know exactly what is happening, what I'm aiming towards and what answers I'm looking for. I have been pushed out of my comfort zone and I think (despite MANY moments of frustration...) this has been a really good thing.
I've also learnt a lot about myself over these weeks and I think starting the course in the pandemic has just brought even more reason and time for reflection on my life so far.
One thing I have enjoyed (strange as it may be) is being one of the youngest in the group and hearing stories and experiences of older students who have seen a bit more of the world and had a bit more experience navigating it. This has really helped to solidify a lot of the things I have been reflecting on and my views of the world and the industry. I cannot say how grateful I am to be in such a supportive group and to be able to relate to so many people from so far away.
If you've been around my blog for a while you probably know I'm that one strange girl who actually loves writing, so even though I was apprehensive at first about having to post my thoughts and findings online, I have really enjoyed putting everything into posts and talking to each other in the comments - and these became super useful to refer back to when it came to writing the essay.
I can't tell you how many mind maps I have made recently but these were definitely a good way of getting down ideas, especially when your research is coming from so many different sources, from books to TED talks to your own history and even the other blogs (thank you to everyone who unknowingly gave me inspiration!).
Undoubtedly it hasn't all been plain sailing getting from A to B and we encountered a few storms along the way - be they internal or you know, a global pandemic - but getting through it is definitely something to be proud of!
I'm looking forward to (and still mildly concerned about) starting Module Two in February but very grateful to have a break before we jump into it!
I think the main thing to remember is TRUST THE PROCESS. Even when you really don't want to and even when you think it's lying to you. Just trust it and you will get there!
Well done to everyone for getting to the end of term, and massive congratulations to Module 3's!
We made it!!
Great Post!! And congratulations too!! I still can't believe we did it! I'm also celebrating like I have already passed which we don't know haha! But yey!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso mind maps were my saviour too! And I am so thankful for our supportive group! Knowing we can always ask questions when we are unsure and like you said read others blogs has been a huge help to me too!
Congratulations and have a lovely Christmas!!
Thank you Emily!! Haha getting through it is enough to celebrate!
DeleteHonestly I don't know what I'd do without this group, I think we'll be needing each other the next two modules!! Even when none of us know what we're doing it's still better know you're in the same boat haha!
Have a lovely Christmas!! x
